These terms govern your use of HEIC.IS. By using the website you agree to them.

The service

HEIC.IS provides free online tools to convert, compress and view image files, as well as articles about image formats. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for unlawful purposes or to process content you have no right to use;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, for example through automated mass requests or by circumventing rate limits;
  • upload malicious files or attempt to exploit the conversion tools;
  • misrepresent your affiliation with HEIC.IS.

Your content

You keep all rights to the images you convert. In-browser conversions never reach our servers. For server-side conversions you grant us only the limited permission needed to convert the file and return the result; files are deleted immediately afterwards. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to convert and use the images you process.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work hard to produce accurate conversions, we cannot guarantee that every file will convert correctly, that the output will be suitable for a particular purpose, or that the service will always be available. Always keep your original files.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HEIC.IS is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of profits arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Intellectual property

The website design, text, logo and code are protected by copyright and other laws. Open-source components are used under their respective licences. “HEIC.IS” and the HEIC.IS logo may not be used without permission.

The website may link to other websites and use third-party services (such as analytics or advertising, subject to your consent). We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
